How to Share Boards and Items

As a parent, there are going to be times when you need to call for help - Whether to a babysitter, nanny, friend, or family member.

Part of the problem when calling for help is the work required to get that person up to speed. Where is soccer practice being held? What time does Jane need to be at the bus stop? Is there a copy of the insurance cards in case of an emergency? The mental effort required to simply get someone up to speed can be overwhelming and, in many cases, is the reason we don’t reach out in the first place.

How to share

Pixie makes it super easy to share family content with anyone in your village. You can share individual boards or items with just a few simple taps:

  1. Navigate to the board or item you want to share

  2. Tap on the 3 dot menu for that board or item

  3. Select the “share” option

  4. Choose the permission you’d like the person you’re sharing with to have

  5. Send the link

In case the person you share with doesn’t have Pixie downloaded already, we make sure to send them a download link for you so they can access the shared board or item after creating a Pixie account.

Sharing permissions

There are two levels of permission you can grant to those you share boards and items with. Collaborator or Viewer.

Collaborator

Collaborators have permission to edit, add to, share, or delete any boards and items they have access to. This is great for people you want to contribute to your family information.

Viewer
Viewers only have permission to view the boards or items shared with them. They do not have the ability to edit, add to, share, or delete.

You have full control over who has access to your family information and when. At any point, you can remove people you’ve previously given access to through Manage Sharing.

Start sharing

Pixie users have told us awesome ways they’re sharing through Pixie, including soccer schedules with other parents, insurance cards with grandparents, bedtime routines with babysitters, and favorite recipes with friends.

Keep in mind, if you have a partner and want to share with them, which we HIGHLY recommend doing, Pixie’s Household feature is best. Adding a partner to your household will allow you to share a much larger collection of your family information.
