How to Set Up a Household in Pixie

Staying on top of everything to keep your family running can be incredibly difficult.

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by all of the family information you’re keeping in your head, written down somewhere, or hidden in that mess of papers? What it takes to run your household ideally should be shared with others in your household, right? Wouldn’t it be nice if your partner could have all the context on your family all the time?

Well, now it’s possible! Pixie was built to help parents and partners share all of their family information by bringing it into one place.

Pixie Households

Pixie’s Household feature is a shared space where any invited member can view, edit, and contribute to your Household boards. All the information that maybe primarily fell on one person in a relationship or just got lost in the commotion of life is now easily findable and accessible to other household members!

With a partner added to your household, you can both share family information and context so everyone’s on the same page without actually having to talk about it. It’s a magical feeling!

Set up your Household

To invite someone to your household:

1. Navigate to the Account page

2. Go to Manage household

3. Tap the “Add member” button and input your household member’s phone number. We’ll send them a text for you with a link to join. If they don’t have Pixie downloaded yet, we send a download link as well.

Once your invited household member has downloaded Pixie and created their account, they simply tap the invite link sent to them to join your household. They’ll then be able to view and access all household boards.

For those who don’t have a partner, the Household feature is still incredibly valuable! Consider adding someone else you trust to your household, like a nanny! Having this shared space with even just one other person in your village makes a world of a difference.

Household boards

By default, new Pixie boards created are automatically added to your household. Household members will immediately have shared edit access to those boards.

NOTE: If there’s a board you want to keep private and not share with others in your household, you can easily remove the board from your household in board settings.
