Pixie is going away. What now?
The Pixie app and its services will be discontinued by December 1, 2024. Read the announcement here. See below for answers to FAQ’s.

Pixie's new exporter feature lets you download all your Pixie data. Follow these steps to export your data:
Tap the "Export all boards and items" button found on the My boards or Account pages.
Input the email address you'd like to send the download link to. (This step will be skipped if an email address has already been added to your Pixie account.)
Open the email on the device you'd like to save the data to. We recommend saving to a computer.
Click the download link.
A few things to note:
If you can't find the export button in your Pixie account, download the newest Pixie app version from the App Store or Google Play Store.
If you don't see the email in your inbox after 5-10 minutes, check your spam folder.
All download links will expire on December 1, 2024.

When you export and download your data, your Pixie boards are saved to your device as folders and sub-folders. The way you organized your boards in Pixie will be preserved. Your notes, images, scans, videos, and links are saved under their respective folders.
A folder for "Drafts" and "Daily Notes" is automatically created to save any drafts or daily notes you may have created in Pixie.
A few things to note:
Note items are saved as .HTML files to preserve the text formatting used in Pixie. .HTML files are not editable by themselves. You will need to import the files–or copy and paste them–to another application to continue editing. See the applications we recommend in the "What should I use to replace Pixie?" FAQ.
Some formatting may be lost in your Pixie notes.
Links are also exported as .HTML files, but will automatically direct you to the website URL you saved when you tap on them.

After more than two years of pouring our hearts and souls into Pixie, we have been unable to turn it into the profitable business venture we had hoped for. In order to continue supporting our own families, we've made the difficult decision to move on.
We appreciate your understanding and support!

There are a number of great alternatives to Pixie. Here are some we recommend.
For family-specific mobile apps:
Cozi
Maple
FamilyWall
For general file and note organization:
Google Drive
Apple Notes
Notion
Google Keep
We recommend using an application that has an "importer" feature so that your data will be directly uploaded and available for continued use and editing. The following applications have an importer that will support your downloaded Pixie data:
Google Drive
Notion
Apple Notes (doesn't import photo and video files)

Those who purchased a monthly or yearly subscription can cancel it through their Apple ID or Google Play Store account.
If you feel you did not receive the value you expected from Pixie's Premium offering, you can request a refund through Apple or Google. Follow the steps outlined in their support articles:
We are grateful to everyone who purchased a subscription and helped us build Pixie over the last two years!
-
Google Drive is a great alternative to the Pixie app. After exporting your data from Pixie and saving it to your computer, follow the steps outlined in Google's support article to import it to Google Drive.
-
Notion is a robust tool that can easily house your Pixie data. After exporting your data from Pixie and saving it to your computer, follow the steps outlined in Notion's support article to import it to Notion.
NOTE: Use the .ZIP file that downloaded to your computer from the Pixie export email to import to Notion.
-
Apple Notes is a great alternative to the Pixie app. After exporting your data from Pixie and saving it to your computer, follow the steps outlined in Apple's support article to import it to Apple Notes.
NOTE: Apple Notes has some limitations. Its import will accept note items from Pixie (the .HTML files that download in your data), but image and video files will be skipped and not imported. Note titles are often skipped on import as well.
