How to Create and Use Items

There is an overwhelming amount of information required just to run your family. Think of all the notes, to-do’s, schedules, receipts, schoolwork, family documents, medical info, insurance cards, gift cards, coupons, appliances, cars, yard care, contacts… only to name a few!

With the constant bombardment families have to manage every day, one might ask, “Where does someone keep track of all this information?

Item types

We built Pixie for families, including yours! Since no two families are the same, we wanted to make sure Pixie could hold any type of family content you need to keep track of. You can add:

• Notes

• Photos

• Scans

• Websites

• Videos

Notes

When adding a note, rich text features are available, like, bullets and numbering, bolding and underlining, and checklists.

Checklists are handy for any to-do’s or lists you need to check off. Consider creating a daily to-do list, or creating and sharing a grocery list with a partner. You can both add to the list throughout the week and access it whenever at the store.

You can also add websites and phone or email contacts to a note. Pixie will automatically recognize these and convert them into usable links.

Photos

Photos are great for anything you need to snap a quick picture of, especially photos you don’t want cluttering up your camera roll.

How many screenshots do we have sitting on our phones? One day you might need one of those, right? Try adding your screenshots to Pixie and deleting them off your phone. There’s no better feeling than hitting that delete button knowing you can always access it later in Pixie!

Scans

Ever want to keep a digital record of your important family documents? This is what scans are for - A quick way to snap, crop, and store a digital copy of any family document or card.

The next time you unexpectedly need a document or card but are far away from your dusty family bin in the closet, you’ve now got it at your fingertips. Think of insurance cards, memberships, driver’s licenses, birth certificates, and more!

Websites

To create a link item with a shortcut to your favorite websites, simply save the website to Pixie directly from your web browser.

1. In your web browser, navigate to the website you’d like to save to Pixie

2. Tap on the “share” option in your web browser

3. Choose the Pixie app as the destination to share to

4. Give the website a title (optional) and decide where you’d like to save it in Pixie

Your website will now be saved in Pixie for you to reference later! Consider saving website links like this for your favorite recipes, recommendations, or articles you’d like to save and revisit later.

Videos

You can also add videos to Pixie (only available on Premium). This is extremely helpful for things like recording your child’s bedtime routine and adding it to your babysitter board. Or consider recording a video on how to do something you seem to never remember. No more forgetting how to hang your Christmas lights again!
